Where you look affects how you feel.
A science-based, neuro-healing tool for high performance, creativity and getting unstuck once and for all. Brainspotting uses the eyes’ direct connection to the brain’s limbic system to free up… any block that needs released.
Fun fact: Eyes are neural tissue.
If you’ve already sorted through old hurts, patterns and done lots of your inner healing, then Brainspotting might be more about increasing mental acuity, loosening up chronic tension/pain, getting better sleep, or fine-tuning motor performance (hello musicians, athletes, artists, craftsman… you get the idea).
Fun Fact: When emotions get stuck, so does your life.

FAQ
+ Exactly what is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting was discovered in 2003 by David Grand, PhD., while using Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EDMR). From these two types of therapy, Grand developed Natural Flow EDMR, which he later honed into Brainspotting.
In the simplest of terms, Brainspotting helps people overcome blocks. It's a useful tool to heal emotional and physical pain left behind from negative events, even ones in infancy or through epigenetics.

+ What Is A Brainspotting Session Like?
I personalize the experience to you. Some parts of the process are flexible, while others are standard. The main goal in every session is to locate brain spots.
Together, we choose a focus. I might check the asssociated feelings or emotions come up or where you feel physical tension. This preps you to find the brain spot by making the topic top of mind.
A brain spot is found by moving a focal point across your field of vision while you follow the pointer with your eyes. I either find the brain spot by allowing you to say when you notice the most tension or by watching your facial cues.
In later sessions I'll weave in other techniques like BiLateral music. In a session with BiLateral sounds, you wear headphones and listen to tracks where sounds move from one ear to another at very low volume. This movement of sound aids in the process to trigger the brain responses.
Most sessions are quiet, but I'll check in with you during the process or feel free to talk about what you’re experiencing. The only rule is to keep your eyes focused on the spot. It can be done with eyes opened or closed, as long as the eyes remain in the same position.
+ How is this different than coaching or counseling?
Brainspotting gently bypasses the overthinking part of the brain and accesses areas in charge of memory, emotion, and body sensation for the sake of reprocessing stuck information.
Dissolve whatever is blocking your creativity, healing or even motor function (if you're an artist, craftsman or athlete, you know these frustrations)
